About ReactionTimeTest.dev
A small, focused set of reaction and click tests, with honest notes about what they can and cannot measure.
ReactionTimeTest.dev is a free online reaction time test. You click when the pad turns green, and you get your time in milliseconds, with the average, best and worst of 5 attempts. It also has an audio reaction test and a click speed (CPS) test.
How it works
Everything runs in your browser. There is no account and no server that receives your results. After you finish a test, your best result is saved in your own browser (localStorage) so you can see it next time; you can clear it any time.
How we check the facts
Numbers on this site come from named sources with the date we read them: Human Benchmark’s published statistics, a peer-reviewed study on simple reaction time (Woods et al., 2015) and a small comparison of audio and visual reaction times (Shelton and Kumar, 2010). Where we found no reliable source (for example typical click speed or averages for children), we show no number. The timing and statistics code is covered by tests with hand-computed cases.
